Delta Community Action Planning
The Delta Protection Commission, in partnership with Sacramento and Yolo counties and the City of Isleton, has gathered a team of experts in community development to assist Delta communities to increase their civic vitality and preserve the values and character of historic Delta towns. Community action plans have been created for Clarksburg, Courtland, Hood, and Walnut Grove; one is currently being prepared in Isleton.
The Commission is assisting community members with implementing the community action plans, including providing planning and policy expertise, assistance with obtaining funding, and serving as a government liaison. Broadband infrastructure, community design, and public safety are three main areas of focus.
Isleton Community Action Plan
We are currently working with the City of Isleton to develop a community action plan. Information about current planning efforts is located on the Plan Isleton website.
Final Community Action Plans
Thank you to the community members in Clarksburg, Courtland, Hood, and Walnut Grove who came out to share their thoughts about improving quality of life, economic development, historic preservation, transportation, public safety and more in their communities.
Commission staff is currently working with Valley Vision on improving broadband infrastructure in the five legacy communities that have participated in the community action planning processes. See the broadband infrastructure flyer (PDF) for more information about the project.
