The Great California Delta Trail

Translation Service Notice

In 2006, Senate Bill 1556 mandated that the Commission adopt a plan and implementation program for a continuous recreational corridor trail network through all five Delta counties, linking the San Francisco Bay Trail system to the planned Sacramento River trails in Yolo and Sacramento Counties. The Plan for the Great California Delta Trail is to include routes for bicycling and hiking, with interconnections to other trails, recreational facilities, and public transportation. Water trails will ensure trail continuity in places where land trails are not feasible.

The Commission serves as a facilitator for this effort, working in partnership with local entities to coordinate planning and implementation across jurisdictional boundaries.
