DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the 100th birthday of Sacramento’s most renowned artist\, the Crocker Art Museum presents Wayne Thiebaud 100: Paintings\, Prints\, and Drawings. Best known for his tantalizing paintings of cakes and pies\, Thiebaud has long been affiliated with Pop art\, though his body of work is far more expansive. This exhibition represents the artist’s achievements in all media\, with pieces drawn from the Crocker’s holdings and from the collection of the Thiebaud family—many of which\, until now\, have never been shown publicly. \nThe exhibit will close on January 3\, 2021. DESCRIPTION:Delta Protection Commission staff seeks your input on the recommendations and implementation ideas in the draft Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP) Recreation and Tourism chapter update. The ESP is a document the Commission and other Delta agencies use to guide efforts to support and enhance the Delta economy. Recreation and tourism-related economic and visitation data has been updated from the 2012 plan. Information gathered from focus groups and from reports and studies completed since 2012 are included in this update. \nThe six-page Executive Summary (PDF) is available. We are especially interested in your input on the Constraints to Recreation\, Focus Group Findings\, and Recommendations on pages 3 and 4. \nThe full ESP Recreation and Tourism update chapter (PDF) is also available. You can find more detailed information about the Constraints to Recreation\, Focus Group Findings\, and Recommendations in Sections 8.3\, 8.4\, and 8.5 of the report. \nWe invite you to participate in a virtual workshop on Tuesday\, January 26 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. DESCRIPTION:You are invited!\nVisit and learn about the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta National Heritage Area and discuss your ideas to preserve\, celebrate\, and share the important stories and places of the Delta and Carquinez Strait. \nIn 2019\, Congress designated the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Carquinez Strait as the first National Heritage Area in California. \nNow it’s time to plan for the future of this special place. \nWe invite you to attend either of two public workshops on the management plan process for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta NHA. We will discuss the types of initiatives that the NHA could pursue\, what stories you want to tell about the region\, and how partners can be involved in the NHA. \nNHAs are nationally significant living landscapes – places that recognize their history\, heritage\, and culture while continuing to advance and change. NHAs are community-driven and serve as catalysts for community revitalization projects\, such as revitalization of historic Main Streets\, investments in historic and cultural attractions\, trails\, and riverfront access\, and development of businesses opportunities. \nThe Delta Protection Commission is the coordinating entity for the NHA\, one of 55 NHAs across the country.
