Learn what to do in a basic disaster through training. Response skills are taught through this course\, such as fire safety\, light search and rescue\, team organization\, and disaster medical operations. By becoming a CERT member\, you can assist others in your neighborhood or workplace when emergency responders are not immediately available to help. Support your community and emergency response agencies by taking an active role in emergency preparedness. \nTo become a CERT Member\, attendance at all classes is required. The Delta Century bike ride starts at the oldest winery in San Joaquin County\, Jessie’s Grove Winery. Choose from three routes\, a 100 mile\, 62 mile\, and 25-mile route. All three routes are completely flat (only climbing is bridges and levees) making this ride ideal first century. Stockton Bicycle Club donates more than 80% of proceeds to a variety of local and national worthy charities. \nRoutes\nThe Quarter Century ($35): 26 miles of vineyards with fully stocked rest stop midway.\nThe Metric Century ($55): 62 mile loop around vineyards\, levee roads\, river and sloughs\, and a ride on the J-Mack Ferry.\nThe Full Century ($55): 100 miles\, with the same loop as the Metric (including J-Mack Ferry ride) with added loop to the north. \nFor registration details\, visit the Stockton Bike Club.

DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: DUE TO CURRENT EVENTS OF COVID-19\, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. \nThe Sacramento River historically experienced major floods\, turning the Sacramento Valley into an inland sea of floodwaters. The City of Sacramento\, and other cities and farms in the Sacramento Valley are protected from this flooding by the Yolo Bypass and other parts of an extensive flood control system. Join Marc Hoshovsky as he explores several key sites in the Yolo Basin to learn how this flood control system works. This tour will be visiting Fremont Weir\, Sacramento Weir\, floodway along lower Putah Creek\, and south areas where the Yolo Bypass waters flow uncontrolled on the west side. \n$100/person \nFor registration and details\, visit the Yolo Basin Foundation Explorer Series.

Put on your hiking shoes and grab your water bottle to explore the only wildlife refuge in the country that has been established to protect endangered plants and insects.\n10:00 AM (1-1.5 hour walk).
