DESCRIPTION:THIS MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELED; THE COMMITTEE WILL MEET AUG. 3. \nThe Delta Protection Commission is the entity responsible for preparing a management plan for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta National Heritage Area\, which was created by Congress in 2019 (PDF). To advance that goal\, the Commission created a 15-member volunteer NHA Management Plan Advisory Committee – read its charter (PDF) – to develop the plan. \nThe NHA Committee is scheduled to meet every month until the management plan is approved by the Secretary of the Interior. \nThis meeting will take place at the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy Conference Room 1450 Halyard Drive\, Suite 6\, West Sacramento. But there will be five additional locations in Benicia\, Brentwood\, Isleton\, Stockton\, and Walnut Grove where people can attend via teleconference\, and the public can attend via Zoom as well. \nHere is the July 13\, 2023\, agenda\, including location and Zoom information.

SUMMARY:Delta Protection Commission Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Delta Protection Commission was created by the Delta Protection Act of 1992 (Act)\, codified in the Public Resources Code and most recently amended in November 2009. \nThe Act declared that the Delta is a natural resource of statewide\, national\, and international significance\, containing irreplaceable resources\, and that it is the policy of the State to recognize\, preserve\, and protect those resources of the Delta for the use and enjoyment of current and future generations\, in a manner that protects and enhances the unique values of the Delta as an evolving place. \nThe Commission is a forum for Delta residents to engage in decisions regarding actions to recognize and enhance the unique cultural\, recreational\, and agricultural resources of the Delta.
