Delta Protection Advisory Committee
The Delta Protection Advisory Committee (DPAC) provides recommendations to the Delta Protection Commission on diverse interests within the Delta, including the Delta’s ecosystem, water supply, socioeconomic sustainability, recreation, agriculture, flood control, environment, water resources, utility infrastructure and other Delta issues. This fifteen-member committee is appointed by the Commission and meets regularly; members serve three-year terms and may be re-appointed. Meetings are open to the public and everyone’s input is welcome; meetings are held 5-6 times per year in Walnut Grove.

Accepting Applications – Due April 24, 2020
The DPAC is a 15 member volunteer body consisting of representatives of diverse interests within the Delta. Members are appointed by the Commission to a 1-3 year term and may be re-appointed. DPAC generally meets 5-6 times a year in Walnut Grove. The Commission strives for diversity in representation on DPAC, including geographic diversity throughout the entire Delta region.
The Commission is looking to appoint 13 members to DPAC at its May 21, 2020 meeting, for terms ranging from 1 to 3 years (to create a staggered membership). Subsequent terms will be for a period of 3 years.
We are seeking applications from individuals to serve on DPAC representing the following categories:
Delta Business Representative – 2 seats (1 year and 2 year initial terms)
Delta Agriculture Representative – 2 seats (1 year and 3 year initial terms)
Delta Recreation Representative – 1 seat (3 year initial term)
Delta NGO Habitat/Conservation Representative – 2 seats (1 year and 2 year initial terms)
State Agency Representative – 2 seats (1 year and 3 year initial terms)
Delta Flood Entity Representative – 1 seat (2 year initial term)
Delta Organization Representative – 1 seat (3 year initial term)
Delta General Public Representative – 1 seat (2 year initial term)
Delta Utilities and Related Infrastructure Representative – 1 seat (2 year initial term)
The DPAC Charter also calls for ex-officio, non-voting members from the following categories:
Delta-region Native American Tribal Representative – 1 seat (3 year term)
Delta Emergency Response Representative – 1 seat (3 year term)
Delta Cultural Preservation Representative – 1 seat (3 year term)
