California Delta 250

During 2026, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta National Heritage Area is commemorating three anniversaries:

• America250, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence
• CA 175, the 175th anniversary of California statehood
• Anza 250, the 250th anniversary of the Juan Bautista de Anza expedition that brought the first Spanish colonists to the San Francisco Bay Area

How Can I Be Involved?

• Travel the Delta collecting passport stamps with the National Heritage Area Passport Program.
• America’s Potluck (July 5) (led by America250 Utah) – Plan to host or better yet, co-host a potluck in your neighborhood.
• American Discovery Trail Relay (July 8)
• Sharing the Spirit of America (July 8, 3:00 PM PST) (led by Hawai’i America250 Commission) – Organize a reading of the Declaration of Independence in your community.
• Celebrate Delta Week (September 20-26)
