Land Use and Resource Management Plan

Public Resources Code section 29760 mandates the Commission to prepare and adopt a long-term resource management plan for land uses within the primary zone of the Delta. The Land Use and Resource Management Plan guides local land use decisions on projects in the areas of, agriculture, flood protection, Delta communities, natural resources, recreation, and utilities and infrastructure. General plans and projects in the five Delta counties must be consistent with the Land Use and Resource Management Plan and are subject to review by the Commission. The Commission also comments on projects in the secondary zone that have the potential to impact the primary zone. If a project in the primary zone is challenged as inconsistent with the Management Plan the project can be appealed to the Commission for resolution.

The current Land Use and Resource Management Plan (PDF) was adopted in 2010.
