NHA Advisory Committee

Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta National Heritage Area logoThe Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta National Heritage Area Advisory Committee serves as a bridge between residents and partners of the NHA and the Delta Protection Commission, which is responsible for preparing and implementing the NHA’s management plan.

The Committee was created by the Commission on July 18, 2024, with the approval of its charter (PDF). Applications for 12 public seats on the Committee opened July 19, 2024, and will close Aug. 16, 2024. The Commission is expected to appoint committee members as early as Sept. 19, 2024. Membership and meeting information will be listed here as it becomes available.

This committee picks up where the Management Plan Advisory Committee left off after the Management Plan was submitted to the National Park Service, under the U.S. Department of Interior, for approval. That committee was designed to sunset when the Management Plan was complete.

The Management Plan, which is awaiting approval from the U.S. Secretary of the Interior and final adoption by the Delta Protection Commission, can be accessed here: Management Plan (PDF) and Appendices (PDF).
